Metal Types Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel has natural beauty, longevity, and low thermal expansion making it an excellent choice for metal roofing and building exteriors. Aperam Stainless products, made in France, have enjoyed decades of use in the European architectural marketplace.

UGINOX® PATINA K44

The “new terne coated stainless steel” is produced in stainless alloy 444 base, which contains 18% chromium, molybdenum and titanium, with an electro-tinned coating on both sides which tones down the natural luster and allows the surface to weather over time to a soft matte gray finish. The tinned surface also makes for easy soldering of complex details.

UGINOX® Patina K44 has excellent corrosion resistance. 5000 hours of salt spray testing have been completed. The Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) is a measure of corrosion resistance based on chemistry of the stainless steel.

UGINOX® MAT 316L

UGINOX® Mat 316L stainless is produced in alloy 316L with a permanent, durable matt finish perfect for all environments and applications, rural and urban.

Because of stainless steel’s low thermal expansion, stainless steel wall panels and stainless steel roofing made from UGINOX® Patina and UGINOX® Mat will exhibit superior flatness.
